About the Authors

Lori Kinsey is the founder and continued education director of Red Lotus Life, she strives to lead from a place of integrity that enables clients to expand into their most authentic self. Her passion for this work is revealed in every workshop and retreat. She has the ability to hold strong empathy and safe space for people, because of the work she has done in the areas of domestic violence and human trafficking. As a domestic abuse survivor, her goal is to help others heal from a place of compassion and trust. She has experience working with many individuals who have experienced different areas of trauma. She is truly a dynamic and inspiring speaker.

Sara Hoffman is an integrity driven coach and mentor dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence throughout the healing process. A professional recognized by the Spiral Institute and peers, as well as serving as an integral proponent, while building a heart centered supportive community. Passionate instructor and educator with expertise in compassionate and non-violent communication, addiction, and family trauma. Extensive knowledge in the areas of psychology, human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, kinesiology and nervous system regulation. Proven skill sets in numerous areas including  ethics, team building, research, healthcare, business, administration, marketing and course/content creation, with the ability to operate in highly diverse populations and emergency situations.

Chapter 1:   The Emotional Impact of Digital Immersion and the Power of Ongoing Self-Reflection

Reflecting on the understanding of how digital engagement—particularly through social media—can significantly affect emotional well-being, contributing to increased feelings of loneliness and disconnection. Using a reflective quote as a grounding point, participants will explore the psychological and behavioral implications of unchecked digital habits.

Chapter 2:   Cultivating Accountability and Identifying Areas for Growth in Digital Behavior

Understanding the importance of honest self-reflection in identifying digital habits that continue to pose challenges, despite previous intentions to change. Participants are guided to assess their progress and explore areas where they may still feel stuck in their digital detox journey. 

Chapter 3:   Embracing Continuous Improvement for Sustainable Digital Wellness

Exploring the principle of continuous improvement as an essential element of long-term behavior change and digital well-being. Participants are invited to reflect on their personal growth, identify areas that still need attention, and establish new goals that reinforce intentional digital habits.

Chapter 4:   Recognizing Areas for Change in Digital Behavior Patterns

Assess and list essential components through a self-assessment process to help identify specific areas in their digital habits that require further attention or adjustment. By encouraging reflection on recent progress, participants are supported in evaluating where growth has stalled or regressed—an essential step in tracking personal and professional development.

Chapter 5:   Implementing Intentional Change Through Goal Setting and Support Systems

Understanding the importance of equipping participants with trauma-informed strategies to implement meaningful change in their digital behaviors by approaching transformation with clarity, support, and intention. Emphasis is placed on breaking larger goals into smaller, actionable steps to reduce overwhelm and enhance accountability.

Chapter 6:   Shifting Mindset and Behavior Through Reflective Practice and Support

Exploring the awareness of persistent digital habits and mindset shifts that support sustainable behavioral change. Through reflective prompts, they assess which behaviors remain challenging, identify small yet impactful changes they can implement, and recognize the role of supportive relationships in maintaining progress. 

Chapter 7:   The Power of Rethinking and Unlearning in Digital Behavior Change

Access and list the critical role of cognitive flexibility in sustainable personal and professional growth. Using Adam Grant’s quote—“The ability to rethink and unlearn is just as important as the ability to learn”—as a foundation, participants are guided to reflect on the digital habits and conditioned responses that may no longer serve their well-being.

Chapter 8:   The Role of Guidance and Support in Sustainable Digital Behavior Change

Understanding the importance of interpersonal support systems and collaborative approaches in the process of digital detoxification. Participants explore how guidance—whether as professionals, parents, or caregivers—can shape healthier digital habits and foster meaningful behavior change.

Chapter 9:   Integrating Integrity and Accountability into Digital Wellness Practices

Access and list the role of integrity in sustaining meaningful behavior change, particularly within the context of digital detox work. Participants are guided to reflect on how staying aligned with their intentions and values enhances their capacity for follow-through and long-term success.

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, social workers must log in through the client portal, attend the entire course and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.

Red Lotus Life, LLC, Provider #1940, is approved as an ACE Provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 7/24/2025-7/24/2028. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 general continuing education credits.
